I love to garden, but hate dealing with slugs, tomato worms and other plant eating insects. I don’t want to spray my family’s food with chemicals. So here are three ways that I deal with Garden pest control naturally:
- Homemade Garden Insect Repellent:
Mix 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with 2 cups of water. Add 50 drops of either tea tree oil or peppermint oil. (or both)
Put in a spray bottle and spray onto your garden plants a couple times a week or after it has rained.
2. Beer Garden Pools:
Cut small plastic cups in half. Bury then in the ground so that the rim is dirt level. Fill 1/2 way with beer. The slugs and tomato worms love them and crawl in to drink, then can’t get out.
3. Plastic pipe at the base of the tomato plants
Cut plastic tubing and bury in a few inches down in the dirt. Then plant the tomato plants in the tube. For some reason it helps block tomato worms from finding the plants.
